The Exorcism of Emily Rose

This movie is from 2005, and revolves around one girl, Emily Rose. The story is built on a true event and it’s made quite nicely by alternating between the present and flashbacks.
Emily is convinced she is possessed by demons and when no one seems to believe her one man does, a priest who in the present is put responsible for Emily's death and all events in the flashbacks.

Being one of the newer Exorcist movies could mean bad news but this is by far the best of them. Its filmed very beautifully and great effects. Something that gets even more impressive when you learn that the girl playing Emily (Jennifer carpenter) did all her own stunts. We often tilted our heads and wondered if some of the poses she did were even humanly possible.
The movie also stars Laura Linney and Tom Wilkingson as the woman who tries to stop the priest from being sent to jail and of course the priest himself. Both do immensely good portrayals.

In short this is definitely a movie worth checking out. There is also another movie built on the same true story that we will check out soon as well to compare.
