Pushing Daisies

The man who created the show in our last post (Dead like me), Brian Fuller, now have a new show out. Or new and new, it came out in 2007.
Pushing Daisies is a revolution in TV, the colors are stunning, the characters well developed and the way its done is just really great.

The stoy is about Ned, a pie-maker with a huge secret. With a mere touch he can bring life back to the dead. The first catch - he can only keep the person/animal alive for 60 seconds or someone else will die. Something he has only done 2 times. Once when his dog, Digby, died and then now when his childhood sweetheart Chuck ends up dead. The second catch - if he touches them again they are dead forever.
This gift is what Ned and his private detective partner Emerson use to solve crimes. Its a lot easier when you can ask the dead person who killed them.

Ned's neighbour and waitress at his pie-restaurant, Olive Snook is by far my favourite character. Played by Kristin Chenoweth, the short actress with the funny voice and comic timing of first class. Olive of course has the biggest crush on Ned who in return only has eyes for Chuck (who he can never touch). Her character is ditzy, crazy and somewhat annoying (in a good way). She has this comic side that makes the show a comic edge apart from the dark humor the show is filled of and saying her lines with a straight face should have granted her that Emmy she almost got this year.

We also have Chuck's aunts. The 2 craziest women you will ever see on TV.

The show is narrated a lot and its full of dialogue. This makes it a hard show to watch too much of but its only becuase you get so much in every episode.

Pushing Daises is a critic favourite and it just go picked up for a third season. I (Emelie) personally think seaosn 1 is genious and season 2 is just beyond genious so far. It may not be up to Dead like me standards but it is very close.

Emelie give this a 10/10
Elin gives this a 7/10 (so far, she has not seen all season 1 or any of season 2 yet)
