From Dusk Till Dawn/True Romance

From Dusk Till Dawn (1996)

Written by Quentin Tarantino and directed by Robert Rodriguez. Two people you know can’t fail, especially not together.
The Gecko brothers are fugitives, and are on the run after a very interesting bank robbery. They kidnap the Fuller family, and drive to a Mexican bar to meet with other on-the-run criminals. It turns out the crooks in the bar are vampires, and if the Gecko brothers and the Fuller family can survive from dusk until dawn, the "crooks" will let them go.

This not your typical action movie, it is more than obvious that Quentin wrote it and it has that distinctive Rodriguez style. If you look carefully you can spot several ‘now big stars’ when they were not big yet. You can see Kelly Preston in a quick role as well as Salma Hayek as a stripper with a snake friend.
This movie is a definitely must see for anyone who is a fan of Tarantino, Rodriguez or good movies in general.

I (Emelie) give this a 7/10
Elin give it a 7/10 too...

True Romance (1993)

And now for Elins personal favorite of these two.
True Romance is written by Quintin Tarantino but not directed. But it didn't stop me from loving it... You really can tell when Quentin has written something, he has such a unique style it's hard to not love it.

True Romance stars Patricia Arquette and Christian Slater... we both love them as actors but me (Elin) just looove Patricias teeths.
Anyway it's about Alabama Whitman (Arquette) and Clarence Worley (Slater) who gets married after one night together and realize they're meant for each other.
Alabama who's a hooker (or call girl as she prefer to be called) just want to let go of her old life but Clarence can't live with the fact that her pimp still live and breath the same air as them.
So he goes over there and kill him, grab a case hi thinks is Alabamas stuff but turns out to be a bag of cocaine.
It's not the fun part starts. They decide to sell the drugs so they can live happily ever after in Cancun.
They have a big time drug dealer after the drugs they carrying around, the cops finds out about the drugs AND it's just bound for disaster.
Watch it and find out the beauty of it.
Who doesn't want to see Patricia Arquette beat the living shit out of a mobster?

I (Elin) give it an easy 8/10
and Emelie gives it a 7/10.
